It’s summer! And while some of you are still in school, I’m sure you’re itching to squeeze a few of your weekends to visit our beautiful beaches. Deciding where to go won’t be easy though, because we have 7,107 islands and most of them offer some of the most beautiful beaches in the world with gorgeous white sand and pristine blue waters. Below is my top 5.

When you think of the words summer and the beach, the first thing that comes to mind is Boracay. Located in Aklan, the island boasts of fine white sand and crystal clear water. Aside from swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling can be enjoyed when you visit the island. The nightlife is great as well. Restaurants and bars can be found all over Boracay.

If you’re into snorkeling and diving, you should visit Samal, Davao. The place’s unspoiled beaches and pristine blue waters, beautiful greenery and amazing rock formations made Samal a top spot destination.

Of course, El Nido shouldn’t be missed when we talk about beaches. Include Palawan in your list of places to go if exploring nature, swimming, diving and other water sports are your idea of a fun summer. Aside from the beautiful coral reefs, it is in El Nido where you can find whales, whale sharks, sea cows, manta rays, dolphins and endangered turtles. And while there, you can explore the empty lagoons, see the limestone formations and visit the prehistoric caves and waterfalls.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, you should visit Panglao, Bohol. Aside from the fun water sports offered on the island, you can watch the dolphins and whales and even swim with the fishes, including barracudas. The famous Chocolate Hills is also in Bohol, so make sure you spend some time visiting the dome-shaped hills.

Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte is also a must see. The place is fairly new to Caribbean vacation and there are still a lot of unexplored spots, so if it’s some quiet time you want, this is the place to go, be also sure to check Things to do in Orlando which may interest you.
